So first UK show I arrived early enough although not as early as some I could mention. Luckily weather held out as forecast was crap but we had the sun! Into the venue just after 4-30 and got a position just to the right at the end of the catwalk, I was lucky enough to positon myself next to a group of p***ed up geordie girls who spent the next 3 hours doing relays back and forth to the bar but thats another story. Butch was first on stage at 6pm and that was the first time I have seen him live and I can honestly say he was amazing he was like a man possessed on stage giving it his all. Slightly disappointing he only did 25 minutes but the crowd loved it. Following Butch were City & Colour I can sum them up in one word- crap! Sorry but they did nowt for me far to downbeat & miserable. Finally V V Brown who was fantastic and had all the crowd singing & clapping. Keep an eye out for her she s gonna be big, currenly got a number 1 album in France apparently. Anyhow moving on there was one final act whose name I don't need to mention. She came on just after 9.15. I have mixed views now about the entrance yes its fantastic but from our position you could see her in the box and hanging waiting to drop for a good minute before she actually did so took away the surprise factor, not that it was particulartly a surprise cos i knew what was coming but for people around us who didnt know they could see what was coming before it happened. Anyway the set was amazing she added whats up in place of what do ya want from me and Jay who is a member of this forum finally got his reward for holding up a sign all the way through asking her to let him sing mean when she allowed him to duet on whats up. Lucky guy! The show passed really quick and the ending i thought looked as specatcular live as it did on the videos I had seen, I just had a feeling it wouldn't for some reason but i was proven wrong. One show down for me only 8 to go but already thinking of where else I can book.

A review from the Sunderland Echo. Seems they quite liked her!
Pink-mania swept across Wearside after the American superstar kicked of the UK leg of her tour at the Stadium of Light. Thousands of excited fans pulled on their most outrageous outfits and flocked to SAFC's ground last night. They were dressed in everything from pink bunny ears and feather boas to T-shirts printed with lyrics from Pink's songs. Doors opened at 4.30pm and more than 31,500 people gathered to see the Grammy-award winning star's Funhouse Summer Carnival Tour. Speculation had been building as to how the American singer and songwriter would enter into the Black Cats' stadium after a crane was set up next to the stage. And when she flew out from a box high above the crowd, the audience screamed their delight. Entertainment staff at the stadium have been preparing for Pink's arrival since December, and the high-octane, carnival-themed show went down a storm with Wearsiders, who gave it the thumbs up. Stephanie Kirton, 24, of High Barnes, thought the night was amazing. The part-time lecturer at South Tyneside College said: "It was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. "I think Pink is outstanding. She knows how to put on a show." Lynsey Braines, 24, from Chester Road, Sunderland, agreed. The student said: "The atmosphere was electric. I saw Pink's show in Newcastle and this was much better. Pink took it to another level with her performance." Ashley Richardson, 23, from Shiney Row, says she loves Pink. She added: "I think she is top class. She was brilliant, and I loved every minute of it. "We had such a good time. Pink is an excellent entertainer." Dee Lawson, 22, from Shiney Row, says Pink is the best singer there is. She said: "I used to love Michael Jackson, but now that he's gone Pink is best. She knows how to put on a show. I absolutely loved it. There's no one else like her." Anna Surtees, 33, came from Newcastle to see Pink's Fun House tour at the stadium. She said: "I've just come back from holiday and coming back to see Pink was the highlight. The show was vibrant. Pink certainly knows how to work the crowd. She owned the stage and the way she started the show coming down from the crane was spectacular." Mel Sloanes, from Grangetown, said she left with a smile on her face. The 39-year-old said: "Pink's a real entertainer and her show was brilliant. The dancing, the music, it all worked. When she did all the acrobatics and flew above people's heads it was amazing." Steve Sharp, 42, from Houghton, thought Pink's cover songs were great. He said: "When she sang the cover songs by likes of The Who it was fantastic. She's got an excellent voice. And there's no way I could do what she did when she rolled around on top of the audience in the ball." Legal secretary Amie Jones, from Washington thought the show was breathtaking. The 28-year-old said: "It was totally mint. I couldn't believe some of the stunts she was doing. She's excellent. I really, really enjoyed it." Hayley Leech, 29, of Washington, was stunned. She said: "It's the first time I have ever seen Pink and I though she was mega. I would definitely go and she her again. "The way she does all the acrobats while singing it just brilliant."

wowww what a night!!! got there at about 4..into the stadium at 4.30. i got about 3 rows from the front on the right side of the stage.. i had the same annoyance as paulomcfc with people pushing threw to go get drinkss soooooo annoying. Anyhow butch walker killed it.. i have a new found love of him.. city & colour were just bleurghhhhhh.. also 3 fights broke out while they were on which i did not appreciate( p!nk herself even commented on it that we should all just love each other hahaha). & v.v. brown was great also. on to p!nk!! the lady were all there to see.. as paulo said the opening wasnt that much of a surprise for me because i had watched the vids, but yeah it was a bit dissopointing that people around me who didnt know, could see her before it happened..but that was really the only complain i had..because the rest of the show was amazinggggggg!!! she looked as beautiful as ever, her voice sounded great, her singing 'whats up' totally made the night as far as i am concerend she sings it with so much passion & she sound absolutly amazing while singing it also & the crowd totally added to the atmosphere,, & i finally got my mam to admit that she is amazing as i have been telling her all along.. i really wish i could do more shows but unfortuanitly money & work just wont allow it :(. but all in all a fantastic amazing brilliant night that i will remember forever!!! xxx

Sunderland = amazing!!!!! first off got there at 2 am! text eva and mark in the morning around 9 am to tell them how dedicated we were! they were late getting to the venue so didnt have chance to catch up wth them before we went into the venue! but after butch rocked the stage eva beebe and yvette came to see me and the friends i was with, they knew how cold we were so went back stage to get us some tea and then bought jenny dougles and mark schulam out! after being showered with kisses from these amazing people they had to go back stage and get ready! i had asked eva a few weeks before the shows started in europe if whats up was in the set list as its one of the best covers she does, eva said no. but at sunderland the set list was changed and whats up was done because we asked the right people! thanks so much to eva gardner for making that happen xxxxx
